Increased Straightening Power
Walers and strongbacks are used to securely straighten concrete forms. Without the additional support, the wedges and ties holding the forms together would buckle under the weight of the poured concrete. Several support systems are available for both handset and gang forming applications.Walers provide horizontal support
One piece waler clamps, z-ties and waler ties are all used to attach a 2x4 to the back of a concrete form, creating a waler. 5 steel walers eliminate the need for 2x4 lumber and function as a stand-alone waler. For additional straightening power, two 2x4 boards can be used in the waler. To install the one piece waler clamp used in the Ellis Panel System, simply attach the bracket to the form and pull back the handle wedge, insert your 2x4's and tighten down the wedges to straighten your forms.Strongbacks keeps your forms standing straight
J-strongback hooks, strongback ties and splice channels are all used to add vertical support to concrete forms. Without a strongback, stacked forms would topple over when the concrete is poured. J-strongback hooks come in three sizes, 4+4, 4+6, 6+6, to work with different sizes of lumber.
